colophon and the bucket glossary

about

A public lab notebook by Vincent Peters, a developer and educator based in Antwerp. Hands-on, demo-driven write-ups on data science, AI, IoT, web platforms, and the occasional cultural side-project.

Format

Posts use one of four formats: build-along, post-mortem, paper summary, or weeknote. Each project post follows an explicit method section. Question, data, procedure, metric, result, limits. Set apart from the body by hairline rules and mono labels.

Buckets

The single-letter code in the listing tags each post by category. There is no hierarchy among the buckets; the letters are an index, not a rank.

A niche. Mobility, inland shipping, e-bike, edge IoT, circular, cultural-public data
B reuse. Existing artefacts (Switch-to-EU, Commensradio, Gaming API, etc.) treated as research field
C classical ML. On messy real-world data
D methodology and statistics. A/B tests, hypothesis tests, effect sizes, intervals
E writing and reading. Paper summaries, proposal drafts, re-framings of older work
F cultural. Absurd, installation, off-beat
· meta. About this site, stack notes, weeknotes
